Hey there, I’m Alison.
I can’t count the number of times that I’ve said “I’ll start on Monday” when it came to a new goal of mine. Losing weight, saving more money, quitting bad habits, exercising, you name it. Whatever big change I wanted to make, I was going to start it the next Monday.
And maybe I did. But I let the weekend before be my “last hoorah” with bad choices one right after the other. By the time Monday rolled around, I had some sort of hangover (carb hangover, sugar hangover, laziness hangover, actual hangover) and felt like a pile of garbage.
If I felt terrible enough, I delayed my new goal start date to the following Monday, only to repeat the cycle again. If I mustered the energy to start my new goal, most of the time that energy fizzled mighty quickly.
But not every time.
I do believe in the power of a new week, a fresh start, and even the power of a Monday.
